Field of Study: Spatial Planning

Institute for Forecasting is providing postgraduate study in Spatial Planning ( in cooperation with Institute of Management of Slovak Technical University, Bratislava)

The postgraduate study is focusing on obtaining the knowledge based on present state of scientific cognition and on the own contribution of the student. The standard length of the internal form of study is 3 years, in external form it it 5 years. The graduates obtain the academic degree "philosophiae doctor" (PhD.).

Postgraduate in Spatial Planning understands methods of inventory control, analysis and assessment of space in context of ecological, socio- economical, historical and psycho-social aspects. He recognizes the process of spatial development, finds the relations and laws. He designs new approaches, instruments and methods for managing spatial development with focus on ensuring its sustainability, new approaches, methods and tools useful for planning, design and management of spatial development and territorial entities of the country as a whole. Graduate can be useful in solving specific issues of social and economic development in relation to aspects of the localization of economic activities. He finds application in disciplines like urban ecology, social ecology and so on.

The conditions of postgraduate study of Institute for Forecasting are set in the Directive of IF SAS n. 1/2011 for PS in study program of third degree – 5.1.2. Spatial Planning operating from 1.2.2011.
